Prestigious Award for the Woman of Valor & representatives from Nigeria

Every year at our Annul Fundraising/Award Banquet, The Nigeria Women Association of Georgia take the time, pain, effort and energy to search for a noble woman who is well respected NOT for the eminence, wealth or positions held in the society (if any) but for what she has continuously done to make and create a positive change among our women, children and in the society as a whole.

For that we are privileged to announce our most deserved award of The Woman of Valor to Her Excellency, The First Lady of Kwara State, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saraki, who is also the president of The Wellbeing Foundation. Mrs. Saraki was chosen as our 2008 Woman of Valor for her quiet contributions to the plight of homeless children, and the physically challenged ones in Nigeria. In collaboration with other civic-minded individuals, she was able to establish The Lifestream Charity organization. The organization provides resources for children with heart deformities and to sponsor corrective surgeries abroad. Her enormous generosity has also been felt abroad and is greatly appreciated. For this, we award her the NWAG prestigious title of the Woman of Valor. Pictures indicate her entourage accepting the award on her behalf.

The NWAG title of Friend of Nigeria (FON) is awarded yearly to a specific distinguished guest who has been a role model to other women in the society. Such women have gone over and above to assisting those who are unable to care for themselves especially in time of urgent needs. For this, the Nigeria Women Association of Georgia is proud to present this distinguished award to Dr. Gloria Johnson-Rogers.

Dr. Gloria Johnson-Rogers is a family practice physician and also a humanitarian. She has noted her time, effort towards others around her and abroad. She donated medical supplies, help build two schools, an orphanage home and provided scholarships for some states as Oyo, Benue, and Abuja just to mention a few back in Nigeria. Dr. Johnson-Rogers has also helped support and care for Nigerian patients and students. Her impact has been felt all over the world in countries like England, Haiti, Dominican Republic, South Africa, United States and not to mention our country Nigeria. For all this, NWAG is PROUD to award Dr. Johnson-Rogers our prestigious award of the FRIEND OF NIGERIA (FON). We are proud to be associated with such an illustrious woman.
